Walleye Fishing Tips
Low-lying waters are bombarded with walleye. It is best to use jigs weigh from 1/8 to 3/8 of an ounce, covered with soft-plastic twister-tails, shad bodies, or bucktail to capture your prey. The incoming, eager walleye do not usually refuse jigs, especially when tipped with a minnow or a worm. It is smart to vertical jig or cast toward rocky shorelines, shoals, and weedlines. In these areas, bright colors such as lime green, yellow, and pink are great choices for your jig. Use a stinger hook to capture those walleye that strike short. Adjustments are necessary when you switch opt for the clear, open waters. Natural finishes are preferred on crank baits; you will have the most success with black, white, and metallic colored crank baits during walleye fishing.
